Stillness Practices
100-to-1 Reverse Count
Cognitive / Thought-Based
A simple cognitive focus exercise that exhausts an overactive mind by forcing it to count backward using complex sequencing. It overrides the brain's ability to multitask or worry.

Instructions
Take an easy seat: Close your eyes. Rest your hands on your lap.
Start at 100: Mentally picture the number 100 in your head.
Count down by 1: Slowly count backward: 99, 98, 97, breathing smoothly with each number.
Keep numbers visual: Try to visually see each new number slide into place on your internal screen.
Restart if you lose track: If your mind wanders and you forget what number you were on, start back at 100 without irritation.
Stop at zero: Continue down until you get to zero or your timer goes off.
