Legs Up the Wall
Somatic / Body-Centered
An inverted restorative posture that reverses gravity's pull on your lower limbs and pools blood back toward your heart.

Instructions
Find open wall space: Sit sideways with one hip pressed flat against an open wall.
Swing your legs up: Gently pivot your body, swinging both legs straight up the wall as you lower your back flat to the floor.
Adjust your seat: Scoot your tailbone as close to the wall as is comfortable for your hamstrings.
Open your arms: Rest your arms out to the sides like a capital T with your palms facing skyward.
Let the wall hold you: Relax your leg muscles completely so the wall does 100% of the work holding them up.
Breathe into the belly: Close your eyes and take slow, heavy breaths into your lower stomach.
Stay and dissolve: Remain perfectly still in this shape for 5 to 10 minutes.
