Ocean Breath

Breath-Focused

A deep throat-breathing method that creates a soothing, rhythmic sound resembling ocean waves. The soft auditory feedback naturally draws an overactive mind back into the present moment.

Instructions

  1. Find your seat: Sit comfortably and relax your jaw and face.

  2. Slightly constrict your throat: Imagine you are about to fog up a mirror with your breath.

  3. Inhale with sound: Breathe in deeply through your nose, creating a soft whispering hiss in your throat.

  4. Exhale with sound: Breathe out slowly through your nose, keeping that same ocean-like whisper sound.

  5. Focus on the sound: Let your mind fully rest on the scraping sound of the air moving.

  6. Sustain the rhythm: Keep breathing in rhythm for 10 slow cycles.
