Stillness Practices
Rain Pattern Isolation
Auditory / Sound-Based
A relaxing sound practice where you focus on isolating single, individual sounds out of a continuous downpour of rain. It keeps an analytical mind highly engaged while soothing the overall nervous system.

Instructions
Listen to real or virtual rain: Sit near a window during actual rain, or play a looping rain soundscape track.
Isolate one surface text: Listen past the general 'hiss' of rain and isolate the specific sound of water hitting one surface (e.g., leaves vs. metal sill).
Track that single texture: Keep your auditory focus locked on just that single texture for 30 seconds.
Switch to a new texture: Shift your ears to track a different layer, like individual splashes hitting a puddle on the ground.
Surrender to the rhythm: Let the natural, chaotic rhythm of the drops slow your heart rate down.
End with a deep exhale: Take a slow breath in, exhale the sounds, and open your eyes.
