Stillness Practices

Weightless Savasana

Somatic / Body-Centered

The ultimate posture of non-doing, where you completely surrender your physical body to the ground. It allows your nervous system to fully integrate the benefits of stillness without any physical effort.

Instructions

  1. Lie completely flat: Lie flat on your back on a soft mat, rug, or bed.

  2. Separate your feet: Let your feet flop open wide, wider than your hips.

  3. Space out your arms: Place your arms a few inches away from your torso with your palms facing up.

  4. Tuck your shoulder blades: Gently slide your shoulders down and under your back to open up your chest.

  5. Release all tracking: Stop monitoring your breath, your thoughts, or your posture entirely.

  6. Imagine sinking: Picture your bones becoming heavy, like you are sinking into warm, soft sand.

  7. Rest undisturbed: Stay completely immobile and rest in this deep silence for 5 to 15 minutes.
